80gb Last Gen Please

So going threw my feeds this morning, TUAW reported on a bit about the new iPod’s - they don’t support video out without a special $50 cable from Apple, I am hoping this is just a bad bad bad joke, or the new cable best support something REALLY fancy, that is one of the things I had hoped to do with a iPod, take some of the flicks I have and watch em on my TV, but if that is not possible with the new model, and the cable I currently own won’t work, then I am leaning towards CompUSA’s recently discounted 80GB last gen iPods, as it’ll still work there.

Oh the joys of it all.

my experience is that if you switch the colors of a standard a/v cable it’ll work just fine… i think it’s red->white, white->yellow and yellow->red, but you may have to try some different combinations…

i use my camcorder’s cable with a switcharound like that and it works just fine…

peace… love… bdg…

Sadly it’s a matter of a chip now in the cable, and a different form, I originally thought it was simply not a valid cable in the audio spot, but the new cable which tows 480p connects to the bottom vs. thru the headphones jack.
