Die DIR-655
So a while back as a gift from a friend for some help I did, I got a DIR-655 it’s a Wireless Pre-N router, it’s fancy, but it’s not holding up to my standards, I’ve put up with it for a while, and on WPA2 it held it’s own for a few months, but I had to roll things back to WPA for security since the new card for the old PC didn’t have WPA2 support (WPA Card was about $20 more.. insane) - so sadly in the mix mode it sucked, then I put everything in WPA mode - I have my connection die every 2-3 days, so that means all server connections, IM sessions, downloads, etc. all die, and since I have no log serv active (need to) I can’t see why it’s dying, and the logs are cleared when I come back, so no debugging the issue.
So I need a new router, something stable - as much as I love Pre-N speeds, at this point I think I may roll back to 802.11g, and just be happy there where it’s stable and happy.
That’s my ran for the day, now onto what should be a happy night of sleep… granting the connection to servers doesn’t drop again. Stupid internet. LoL.
