Cake, Projects, and Life

So it was quite the weekend event, Ron Brown III (or lovingly called Ronnie or RB3) turned 1 and had the cake of his life (see Flickr/Facebook) he had his cake and wore it too – quite a fun time, plus I got to relax and then some taking as many naps as humanly possible – but it was a nice visit! We (Beth, Michael and Me) ended up bringing home our niece to hang out with Mom for the week, she seems to be having fun, even stayed to watch Dad preach a 2nd time ;) but it all just wrapped up for me, as RB3 got ahold of Harmony’s cell and gave me a call to thank me for coming to his birthday party lol. Surprised me and his dad – thank goodness for free weekends ;)

Made some major headway on my project, and to pull back the curtain some – it is a media project, covering Audio, Video, Print and Internet, with just a hint of social fun (I hope) – I have been blessed to have 2 people already on board and up for the task, going to start poking around some more with local friends and see if I can’t build a strong local team to empower the site a bit, not that I don’t love my friends online who have worked with me in the past – just for once in my wacky web plans, I’d like to have friends locally involved.

Oh onto life, in a word: wobbly. Not even sure if that’s the right word, but just seems like I am a bowling pin that’s been nicked just a little, and I am teetering back and forth heading towards something on either side, but I am honestly not even sure what that is! I am having more fun than I have in a long time working on the aforementioned website above, it’s like the good old days when I got to play and get paid for it :) the poetry and magic of PHP code and some lovely time in Illustrator making pretty’s – but the cold splash of reality returns tomorrow as the work week begins for hosting and for IT management, out of the two I’d choose hosting hands down, but sadly hosting doesn’t give health insurance lol.

I have had a lot on my mind recently and I find myself just cleaning and organizing, I am not sure about this apartment as a long-time place of residence, nor Bakersfield for that matter, this has always been the place I have considered “Home” but more and more I just feel sometimes like I don’t really fit – I haven’t seen much of the country, mainly west coast – not that I have the time/finances to do so – but I would one day like to see the east coast, and see that ocean :)

Anywhoo – I could rant on for hours I’d imagine, a lot on the old brain, but for now going to stick with that going towards the private journal, and move on with my night. I hope every one’s Monday is mellow. Take care.
