So it finally happened, all my lack of sleep, interaction with those I knew had colds, and well stress caught up with me, today I left work at 11am or so, I just couldn’t function anymore, and I am still achy galore right now, head is spinning, and I just keep running a high temp. Sick.
Thus I think I am going to call in tomorrow morning unless suddenly I feel 100% better, heck even 50% better would be a step in the right direction, just really think I need the rest - and lets me ease into my weekend worth of work/projects and keep it mellow leading into Monday a fresh week ready to go.
Anywhoo - feeling a little sleepy so going to give things a go with getting some sleep. Night all.
So a long day at work, left the office at 7:30, 2 hours later than my normal day, going to probably go in early as well, but the firewall is in place, so that’s a start towards good things - but a long day to say the least, been up over 12 hours, and I think I have a few more to go, but the pizza will be here soon!
But it is still weird coming home to my place. For over 20 years my home was the same place, even when I had my own place, it was the same place and the only difference was I was the only one in a 3bdr house but this is getting there, getting used to the idea of silence again, always one thing I found hard, but thanks to some book suggestions I hope to have some fun reading material soon, even though I have cable, it’d be nice to really unwind my brain into some paper pages.
In other news, security system comes in tomorrow, from there it’s getting the install done, and everything nice and happily secured. Going to hit T-Mobile tomorrow after work or at lunch and see about getting the T-Mobile @ Home, they’ll try to rope me into a 2 yr contract renewal, but I am going to of course manage to wiggle my way into a single year (or else!) - but hopefully it’ll be good.

Okay okay - odd title, but it’s the Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog Soundtrack I just snagged from iTunes - a nice addition to the flick, I hope ol JW decides to make a few more episodes if not make it a regular thing - but a nice thing to listen to as I finish up the day off
A interesting “day-off” which for me included working around here on things - put up a few things, tried out my oven - I need to find the scissors though as I can’t cut the shelf paper without em, probably borrow my pair from work as I don’t use it there that often, but at least it’ll hold me off from going to Target again, and blowing a lot more money lol.
I think I have my security system sorted, probably be in this next Friday or so - but around here the nighborhood has been quiet and mellow, the ocasional group of kids yelling at the pool, but not a big deal, heck even my upstairs neighbors making a racket today didn’t even bother me, as they are moving out but its all coming together to be lovely, maybe week after next have folks over for a house/apartment warming (depending on what they want to call it).
Sent off my current logo to two of my buddies tonight, looking to have the Thrust Networks logo re-done, I made the one in use over 10 years ago, and it could use a fresh touch just like FlockHosting got a while back - but I’d really love to see what my friends can do as they are both insanely gifted artists - and I bet they can come up with something original/fresh/clean - but with that I think I’ll be able to get a fresh site ready for TN and I am going to start working this week on FH’s refresh to include some new packages/functions/features/etc.
Anywhoo - going to finish up my day and get a hearty 6 hours sleep before I start back to work, been a nice 4.5 days off, but sadly things must go back to the lovely grind, but hopefully a night’s rest helps me be fresh and ready for the challenges of day! Night all! Have a GREAT Tuesday!
Unless I get one heckuva offer, I am in for the night. Been a busy week/weekend, and I know tomorrow is going to be a wild one as I am going to try and finish up the move of the last little bits (paperwork, phone, etc.) from my rents place - so going to enjoy this evening, and relax.
Cleaned up my twitter account, too many people on there I added because they were local, but most turned out to use Twitter not to do a quick “Washing my Car” but rather a full-fledged IM / marketing tool - sad that the simplest of tools that can be used for fun, were used for strange reasons and it was those types of users who were leading the “frustrations” Twitter for it’s “shortcommings” yet, it does exactly what it should.
My fileserver is back online, not where I want it, but I wanted to get it all lined up and online so I could enjoy some television I have recorded on it - of course now I have to sort this Realtek Audio issue as apparently their HD driver blows and I can’t watch DVD’s anymore via Media Center, instead I must use VLC, which isn’t a huge deal, just was hoping for easy of use via the remote.
Anywhoo - more I could rant about, but going to stay off the computer here a bit tonight, as the other half of tomorrow is computer work - as my current plan is morning = cleaning/moving and afternoon/evening is websites/servers. Have a great labor day those who have it off!
Yowza. What a week. Tomorrow will mark 1 full week having my apartment. It has been an amazing journey to get to this place, and things are slowly leveling out - and I have to say, I have AMAZING friends and equally AMAZING family, I have been helped since day #1 get things moved over, various things donated to the “bach pad” etc. Simply Amazing.
One common thing folks keep asking is “What else do you need?” honestly? Food. LoL. Tomorrow is grocery day. My box of Honeynut Cherrios is nearly gone, so its time to get a wider variety of tasty bits - and I am really asking folks online who want to get me something, a Target gift card is simple - but even better, would be to give the bulk of the gift to the Hands and Feet Project (linkage) - the hurricane recently caused some damage (see the website) and they are looking to raise some emergency funds to help get things back to normal.
But the house warming is probably a week away, I think I have the Alarm system sorted, it’s not going to be cheap, but at least it’ll be easy to get setup and online it appears, and NOT get stuck into a 3 year commitment for an alarm in an apartment where I may not be in a year - time will tell.
Anywhoo - brain is half asleep, took a shower to wash off the day which has made me sleepy, so I am going to call it a night, and move forward tomorrow with more random apartment fun Goodnight all!
Well its a new day, freshly have internet at the apartment now, cable TV too - but its been quite a ride! Major thanks to my friends who have helped me thru this move and donated things to the house to get it rolling! But with the help and donations I have a good setup now, still not 100% where I’d like it, but well enough to let the budget relax a bit and catch up
But it is nice to have a more complete link to my servers, and 4 days off to work on things and organize a bit more - today I think is the food run here in a bit, I need to fill my fridge and pantry (aka the cabinets near the stove and I need to get a chair for the office as I am currently on a couch I pulled up to the desk it works, but not what I had planned at all.
Anywhoo - again thanks to all for their prayers and support, house warming coming soon - just busy busy - and too much on my brain, so off I go to hit the shower, then start working on my network to get it all how I’d like it. Have a WONDERFUL Friday, and a great long weekend.
