T-Minus 1 Day

jingle bells.. jingle bells.. wait wait.. thats not right.. its ‘Happy Birthday to me!’ well now with my new found imaginary relationship with AOL user Jane Doe my life will proceed to only get better. Nothing like a online stalker! :-)

well I just got a early gift from my lil sis, a subscription for WalMart.com’s DVD Rentals, while I am enjoying NetFlix I will definately give it a go, system look similar so no complaints here!

As for this evening I plan to head to church in a few hours I guess, not sure if I will stay for the evening of ‘Youth’ fun but definately long enough to maybe play a few songs and head out with the car for a evening of wild escapades… or at least a nice drive home from delano to bakersfield. :)

23 years and counting.

725068170 seconds alive (at last count).. coming friday i will tick another year on the belt, the big 23… what does it mean? I am older, one step closer to death, yada yada yada.

I remeber the good ol days where me and my friends, like my best friend Cory used to hope we would be older one day and be out on our own, and no parents, no rules, no obligations, just an apartment, lots of computers, parties, girl friends (we were nerds we had high hopes) but then the reality of 18 sinks in. People strive for that age for whatever reason, and not all realize the implications of that age, you is responsible for you. You actually become a ‘PERSON’ in the eyes of the law, they will lock you up for looking at a parking meeter wrong.

As I enter this 23rd year of life, I do yes still live at home, where I lived for a year a so on my own once when my parents moved out, and now here I am with my parents moved back in, I am paying rent so I have a lot of freedom to come and go at odd hours, but I still try to be respectful of them and come in quietly, keep them posted on where I am so they dont worry I died.. that type of thing.

But with 23 comes the joy that I know I am doing farely well in my business, going into the 2nd year of business, and I am making profit monthly, which is a awesome blessing! Not many companies can go into their second year of business (especially a tech company) and say they are showing profits! Now granted I dont have a staff of 400 people, leather office chairs, or high performance sports cars, its just me, my beat up Dodge Neon, couple servers, good friends who are on call 24×7 if and when I need them.

So growing up I have relaized, I may not be rich in a cash in pocket sense, I may not have that apartment, wife (or Girl Friend), 3 TV’s, PS2, XBox, 24inch LCD, and that Quad Xeon PC, but I am very rich in friends. I have some of the best friends out there, all ages, all ethnic backgrounds, all regions of the world, even over in the UK! I owe a lot to my friends who support me in a lot of things, and without some most of my business endevours and personal endevours would not be worthwhile.

So as you grow up I guess your views definately change. However I would like to get something in that Girl friend dept ;) Any bakersfield girls out there? :-) 23… here I come!

Now where’d I put my veggie tales video…

mywebattack - JUDO CHOP!

I had one of my friends kick me down $30 for some graphics I whipped up for him and some misc hosting help so I looked for ways to blow it! Sure sure.. I could save for a car, rent, pda, etc. but I wanted to get a toy… NOW!

$19.95 secured my seat at MyWebAttack.com which is a online file archive. Now why pay for a file archive? Simple. Quality, over quanity. Each listed software is tested by MWA staffers. They do screen shots, some quick movies, but overall finding the proper program is a lot easier.

I was first turned onto these apps by Lockergnome, I have been a gnomie for as long as I remember ;) Back from my dialup days a year or two back, its just good stuff! Chris is wacky like me, and he usually has similar views on software as I do.

So if your looking for a good toy, give MWA a try, its very handy to have around, and I have found some great apps for my clients on both hosting sites, and a 3rd on the way… I may need staff soon! :-)

from the desktop…

whats always fun is when you cant even spare time to browse out to the internet. a busy day ahead of me, clients to contact, potiental clients to contact, an office to finish deep cleaning (I can almost see the floor!) but as always i have a day of coding, installing, upgrading, support, and just overall fun to complete ;)

maybe more tonight, who knows! some interesting tech stuff lately, and some new services I have accounts with to tell people about.

updated my MT

ah the joy of 2.50am :-) A fun night hanging out with my buddy Dan, one of my closest friends, we worked on getting his website all setup on the server so far so good, just waiting for DNS to propigate.

I got an email from the MT people and there was a patch offered for MT so I patched up and good to go! The world is safe for my crazyness again!

tech help and health

today was one of those days (still is 2 hours left) first off I got an email from a person saying that if I didnt reply he was going to cancel his service…. the problem with that, he wasnt my client. One of my co-located server’s clients tracked me down and decided I could help them.

after a discussion with the person, explaining that I was not their tech support, they seemed a little more understanding why I didnt reply, well after talking with this upset person, I called the my buddy Kynan who knew where the owner was, he calledh im let him know what was up, and then I got a call back from Kynan with a heads up on what was going on, to say the least the owner was not happy. He called and had a stern talking to this client! So I must be doing something right to have clients fighting to keep my name good in business so people would know this guy didnt follow proper guidelines for support.

To follow up things my buddy kynan sounds like death froze over. Really bad, some flu thats going around, and its not pretty. sore muscles, headache, and more he and my buddy eric both have it, and its not sounding like fun at all… so sickness is all around, im off to drink a lot of OJ and maybe some warm Tea.
