I offically completed the iSuite of applications - I now have iLife and iWork 05 as well as the new Tiger release 10.4 - So far so good, however some apps are causing a slow-down of things - but not everything was Tiger “optimized” - but more indepth (and possibly with some screen caps and such) once my battery recharges
For 5 years now I have focused on work, clients, servers, and taking care of things of that nature - late nights, early mornings, heck for the last two weeks alone due to season change & time change - the ol phyiscal body is feelin the strain - missed the gym tonight, but heck - feel so rested, its well worth it.
But this year, is my year for finding a life - a rough year last year with both parents health, years before that 24 hr days were a regular (just ask Jon, always saw me on AIM at normal hours in the UK).
So what does “getting a life” entail? Well I am not much of a socialite - don’t get me wrong, get me talking, and I never shut-up! Be it business, or other, if I start talking, even if the person is a complete stranger, I have a tendency for jabbering on and on and on and on and on (etc etc). but I do want to expand my horizons a bit, try to take a long weekend at least once a month, day off a week to relax, and recoup, find new friends, hang out with old ones more, and dare I say it find that ever mysterious thing called “love” - I think the last serious relationship was 6th grade - so branching out to meet new people, new things for fun, or at the very least more of the things I enjoy doing for fun (photos, biking, gym, cooking, reading, choral/instrumental performances, to name a few) but really try to focus a lot of my spare fun/free time towards things away from the computer.
I like the computer, and I do like all of the friends I have online, but I keep hearing about these people, that live in my own town, and are a quick car ride away
however I do keep getting offers to goto TN from various people, so who knows, maybe we’ll have ChuckFest 05 later this year from TN - I’ll bring the hotdog buns.
But anywhoo - I am going to start pushing myself a bit more, with the gym anxiety has been a touch less, not gone, but not as intense as it once was, and with some fair sized projects on the table and a office soon to house them better and pull in friends to assist, my time for personal things will increase, and hopefully with the addition of a employee - my time will even more so increase and allow me to spend quality time on things other than computers - not that computers will ever cease to be in my life, but just not letting them BE my life.
Anywhoo - It’s 1:30am, I have some final DNS changes to make, and once thats done I am going to try the going to sleep thing and see if I can make it till morning.
Till next time!
Sleep!
Most of the day, I have been trying to decide what I wanted to do - work, gym, CompUSA for OSX 10.4 - well apparently it was none of the above as I just woke up from a awesome nap, with a touch of dreaming - something I have not done in over 2 weeks. Felt good. Still have a lot to do on my plate tonight, but at least now I have some rest under my belt - but I am going to try and close up shop earlier once I have at least phase 1 or 2 of each done, so through the weekend testing can happen etc.
But its all good, just have to keep pushing through, get some food into me is the next thing on the list, some chicken breasts have been marinading for about 5 hours in some oh-so-lovely Teriakyi - nice touch of rice - perfecto
Off to cook, then eat
Have a Good Weekend all!

A few years back when I bought my first Laptop, I purchased it from TigerDirect.com - only to have the entire amount which was supposed to be a 3 month payment plan they offered directly from their site - however apparently it only worked if you used a “CREDIT CARD” not a Visa Debit card linked to a bank account.
After a lot of hassle, I just kept the laptop, filed a complaint, and moved on. Well TigerDirect is at it again with its well known brand of stupidity it seems they feel they somehow own the word “Tiger” which is the name of the latest release from Apple of their OSX operating system - well TigerDirect is sueing apple it appears - while it may just be a media hoax - but I honestly don’t put it past TigerDirect.
Needless to say it is being covered, three sites I visit:
Beta News Coverage
Engadget Coverage
AppleInsider
Ah the joys of this crazy world when a animal name is suddenly owned by a silly computer parts company. Stick to the geeks or the egg if you want good deals.
Man what a night, been good - and got some info given to me that helped me understand someone a tad better tonight, also was cool that God had kind of already laid on my heart what was up (not the full details) but at least the direction in which to pray in for the guy, so very cool, sad whats going on with him, but definately makes his additude of late a bit more understandable.
Only major downside tonight was a cat ran out in front of my car on the way to the bank
Never hit a animal before, not fun - but the cat just darted at my wheels - nothing I could do to get out of the way.
But anywhoo… busy day ahead again today, going to crash to a pretender episode, and sync’ing my project calendars as I added a boat load of project info tonight to various projects I am working on - plus made some major headway to about 3 projects by working on one - so I have a group I am working with (hi junkies) who will be rather excited … more on that later (as I keep saying with all things) just have to get caught up on a lot of things quickly.
Sleep here I come!
Your gonna get some sleep.. you don’t. LoL - I have been awake for 2 hours now went to bed around 11ish - and woke up at 3am, not even tired, but loafing in bed trying to rest up. Big day today, going to the office building to look one more time at the spaces (taking A510 to photo document the place) and possibly, getting the space process moving forward tommorow, maybe Wednesday - but looks like definately this week! Yay!
Now that leaves the fun part of trying to scrounge up extra $$$ for a office computer (thinking Mac Mini) and office furniture - neither of which are cheap things, but are needed things. Just have to look at the budget honestly and see what I can afford, might not be pretty tables for starters, may snag my old folding table from Dan’s place for now, but long term I want my office to look awesome, very sleek, modern, good workstation setup/server setup/etc.
Maybe I need a MacMini fund… if I had it by Friday I could get OSX 10.4 & a Mini! Ooo so many options, so little time.
More news later today I am sure, lots to do, but I think I am going to try and crash again, maybe squeeze in an hour or two.
I have been a reader of MacMerc.com for a while now - today’s “Freeloader Friday Download of the Week: Poor Mans Creative Suite” is definately a great selection of apps, I have used all but Nvu & SeaShore - so tonight’s iBook time will definately include a download or two for some testing
If your a Apple user, definately consider adding MacMerc.com to your favorites, a very handy site.
Before I go, soon I’ll have my bookmarks shared here - I gave in and started using del.icio.us and it is very handy specially with Foxylicious in Firefox, now my iBook, Linux Box, Windows Box all share my bookmarks in firefox, definately very very handy. I do need to clean up my tags a bit though, the dropdown list is a mile long
If your interested in my current bookmarks you can look at my del.icio.us - service is free - but I’d be willing to donate some $$$ if I had some to spare, definately very helpful having 3 computers with different operating systems.
Okay - back to ampin down from the gym. More later
