Well if your hitting some problems this morning in trying to access your favorite website, don’t be suprised. There are a few huge network spots having issues - I started noticing it when I sat down around 1 after waking up, a few sites weren’t resolving - and in checking a resource or two I have I found some high high latency links.
So with a quiet morning due to the fact I can’t go anywhere - I figured I’d at least hit here and make a post - keep Rosie and her fam in your prayers, they got word yesterday her Grandfather passed away, and from talking to her a bit it sounded like he was ready to go, and doctors had come back with he may of had leukemia - but he had stopped eating - so he had made his choice I’m willing to bet - but do be praying for her father, he left last night to head towards mexico to be with his fam.
I have new-found respect for Gateway, I have always had mixed feelings about them, they tend to make a lot more “hit-or-miss” models when it comes to laptops, but today I got a laptop in to see if I could repair it and in searching around for tips on how to crack open the shell to get to the cdrom, I found Gateway’s resources for the top and was suprised to find a complete visual guide of step by step removal of the broken drive - so looks like I’ll be easily able to replace it and found a $75 CD-Rom replacement part on eBay new in box. Pretty dang cool.
I was asked this week when I was taking my road trip, and I honestly wish I knew, part of me would like to get a new car to take on the trip (thanks for the car suggestions thus far), but at the same time part of me just wants to get out there - I had a client order me a iPod and it came in damaged they didn’t have a replacement so I have like a $300 credit at the online store - and they right now have a GPS onsale for $279 - it’s pretty spiff, might apply the credit to that, rush it here, fix up the neon and just drive - not sure, I can easily work on some stuff I have been working on from the road, but part of me just really wants to disappear again, seems like whenever I dabble back into more and more work, I end up under a pile of people wanting me to do something for them - its nice to be wanted, but its also nice to just veg out and not worry about anything - heck snuck back to the office after meeting with Rosie about her school stuff, and crashed on the couch at the office for 2 hours
So time shall tell, have about $1,000 set aside for the road trip, or if not, it’d go towards a car downpayment - but then there’s also dealing with not only car payments but if financed it does have to have full coverage insurance wise, so lots of things to consider there - but maybe getting away for a few days would be good.
Well since I am in full rambling mode, I am going to go, maybe hit the store and buy some milk as I am out… maybe some oreos too… hrmm…
night / morning folks.

Well I think it might be time to go car shopping. I love my Neon, it’s great, fair gas milage, but its used, well used by me, and previously my mom as well going back and forth to Delano for work, but lately its starting to show signs of aging, and while at some level I know a lot of the stuff could be fixed by some cold, hard, cash - bottom line is if I wanted to fix it up to what I’d “LIKE” it to be, I’d need to replace a lot of rubber on the car (lot of it is cracking) - heck I can’t goto a car wash as my sun roof leaks.
So I think it may be time to do some shopping for automobiles, Ford Focus looks nice, nice 5 speed matching what I have in the Neon - usual hooplah like CD/MP3/AC - for about 15k - probably get 2-3k trade-in on my Neon - and I can easily put down 1-2k extra I’d imagine if the rest of this month goes as planned - hopefully get payments right around 200 a month if at all humanly possible.
If anyone has a sub 20k costing car suggestion, please speak up, I’d really like to keep it around 15k if at all possible, but cars are expensive now days I guess
Well thats my random thought for the moment, I am going to go try to sleep I guess. Night.

Well this morning started off with a ring, a few rings in fact, first was one of a server down, a server that has had no issues - it was rebooted from the console so it means a human at the datacenter rebooted it - so after some investigating as to why it was rebooted, it appeared to be a accident, several apologies later, I had pushed a clean reboot, brought the server back up and online to live mode.
Next followed a call from my bro that one of the servers at the office had been down since Friday, its a finicky one - one time we think it’s hardware, another time its software, but no real clues either way so were starting by getting rid of the 64bit Windows, and going to a standard 32bit for now - which does mean a fun-filled night soon, then if it continues to freak, it means buying some new hardware to replace the failing box, but all tests show the memory and drive as fine, so it could simply be a bad motherboard.
This wold of all be fine if I hadn’t finally gotten to sleep at like 9:30am, sometimes I miss sleep! But got to think out some things last night, also got to have some interesting dreams tonight, it was one of those dreams where someone you know not to act a certain way was the oppisite - in this case it wasn’t really truth in appearances, it was the sterotype of one person’s view of this guy (which is different from how he has always treated me, but then again, I’m always a guest in his house - so maybe he’s just being polite) - anywhoo, in the dream he was super nice, we talked, we joked, it was cool - granted it had a lot to do with some of my thoughts through the morning, but apparently my brain was still thinking about it - ah what a strange brain I have.
So I am looking for something to do here to unwind a little, tired some, but yet, just really want to wear out and crash tonight - considering doing some more work on zagnu.com in getting it all cleared up - just want to find a nice template for the junkies for their new board’s home, maybe I’ll browse template sites… that could be fun right? LoL Time will tell. Night gang.

Enter Monday - here we are for another magical week in the land of Chuck - more finalizing the stuff from last week, and moving forward with things put into motion last week - hopefully though it’ll all be less crazy, more balance.
Some things hopefully on the docket which started planning last week, but will move forward towards completion this week - got some things done this morning, namely billing upgrade and upgrade of support systems - but with the 15th approaching I do have the remaining old-skool paper billing clients, but tis fewer now as the last few are slowly but surely moving towards digital - so its all good there too - just busy busy.
Friday, Saturday were awesome, good times with friends, got to be away from a computer screen for many hours at a time, as this week, I’ll be living in front of one for a few days here this week, continued server upgrades, programming, and some more service assistance to other hosting companies and such - so I have a feeling June will be a Beard month (aka lack of shaving) - I hate doing it in general as my beard is thick and hard to cut in general, so it is time consuming - I really need to invest in a good beard triming kit, and a electric shaver - maybe something for the ol Christmas list this year.
Okay - rambling now, but hopefully some fun/relaxing will happen this week, I am considering spending a little cash and getting a Mac Mini for the office - or getting spare parts together and putting together a junk machine for keeping down there 24/7 for my use - but I do want/need to spend some more time down there and utilize the connection (4.5 up and down) as well as free AC on the hot hot days - but with that said, time to crash out. Night folks.

So the day, quick and to the point:
And there you have it. Night.

Well here it is nearly 2am, and I am just getting home, well settled in at home, been home for about 20 minutes or so, but just wrapped up a evening with my Cousin and Sleeping Jake
We watched Chicken Little, and various random things on cable, made cookies, etc. etc.
It was good fun and we left Jake asleep on his living room floor and his roomate locked the door behind us so he’d be safe
but it was a fun evening, me and Sarah started a tad earlier getting food, then hitting target for far too long to find jake some baking goods (pans, measuring cups and spoons, as well as assorted other things) but it was good fun, followed up with a quick stop at Foodmax for misc. goodies, and then onto Jakes for the wild time.
I have decided I am just living my life backwards, I am now in my early teens, rebeling, late nights, mind altering substances (cookies + oj - so wild) but good stuff, and tomorrow more of the same, even a tad later too as after lunch/movie me and Sarah are going to a evening showing of X3 - so wild!
Nice to get my mind off so many things bogging it down, this night was just what I needed - but I am going to wrap it up with a shower, then a nice nap. So untill tomorrow - night kids.
