Happy Friday!

Well here we are, year is coming to an end, Christmas is right around the corner, I am awake at 3 in the morning, it’s good times - oh and to top it off, there is rain! Very peaceful.

Have some plans for servers before years end, things have just been crowded on a few, so I think I may start working on and locking down a new box to transfer some clients from - had some thoughts on the re-working on TN too, and just ditching the virtual hosting options from the site, focus it more towards Business Hosting, and Business Services, since as of late, that has been it’s primary focus - and FH has been no slacker to those services either, it’s good stuff.

In the AM I do plan to do some final running around for gifts I have been slacking/lacking, helping my mom out by getting her some last minute gift certs which means venturing to the California Ave. Del Taco for 2 more cards ;) but its been a long day, actually came home, and around 8pm I crashed, till about 11:30pm so got some rest in there, but I am definitely in need of a bit more, ol bones are achy, and I keep getting run down pretty quick, so hopefully it’s not the bug going around, but maybe I can sleep it off a bit.

Lots of other mini things going on here and there, office changes, T1 install on the 27/28th so pretty excited there, some office mates which is nice, so a little human interaction during the day if I am out at the office - but off and on (depending on the hours) I may still be at home for a big chunk of the day, sleep driving is just plain not good for anyone.

Got to hang out with Matt for a little bit at his Quizno’s and torture his staff a bit claiming to be the new manager, and ruling with a Iron Fist - I think I scared one of them quite a bit, but I did get a fair Pastrami sandwich out of it, though I am sorry to say Matt, Kosmos has ya beat, don’t enter any pastrami contests - Got a call from Rosie about her new up and coming job, not a ton of details, but just that she got it, then as I got to talkin she had to run, so hopefully her Christmas time isn’t already ramping up to craziness.

Today I think above and beyond just doing some final running around, I think I may hit Foodmax and get the stuff I am low on for making cookies, and make some batches of Snicker Doodles, Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Oatmeal (just plain!) be a nice break from the server world, and things like fake orders, spam, etc. It’s just getting bad out there, if I could pull it off, I’d put all servers on Pause through Tuesday, but as of the 27th, I do take my first step towards a possible full-scale Bakersfield data-center - and if I can win that, increase sales, kick up the resellers a bit with new resources, who knows, maybe hire someone and really push things up a notch.

Anywhoo - I think I am repeating myself a bit, have a good day folks! I am off.

Queue got backed up on our spam scanner, just a massive amount of spam today apparently - so I had to come up with the above, probably some other graceful way to do it to get past 146MB of mail files, but one user gets blasted based upon her email configuration, which after the new year will be fixed.

Crazy day, had a meeting at the office, probably one of, if not the last, had a good talk, went to a party at kMan’s office, twas fun, took ms. courtney, and she got to meet the gang, she enjoyed it (I think, but if you didn’t Courtney, feel free to lie to me and tell me you did) - followed that up with getting a order in the billing system that I think was hoping I auto-setup upon payment, I don’t, I manually review and setup each order, but they paid, so I am going to give a call to the # they provided in the AM, and see if some poor lady had her info stolen by someone in Albania, odd stuff, still need to go delete the order.

Came home, rested a bit, as I was feeling mighty tired - then went to kMan’s secondary office at a Doctor’s office and got the tour, and was just in awe how the last head of IT did things, and the prices he charged for it, crazy stuff - but these folks will be taken care of now for sure - but that followed with Chicken Alfredo Pizza with Spinich, delish - then back to kMan’s primary office for a bit of hanging out, and when we came to kMan’s desk one of his employee’s had left a note:

Here’s Courtney’s # we need to hire her. Ah Yeah!

So she has folks rooting for her ;) Well that’s all I got, I think I am going to turn in, I am tired, so I am going to roll with that, and pass out. Have a Good Thursday peoples.

Christmas Eve Next Week!?

Wow how time fly’s when your having fun (I think I am at least) - but it has been busy busy - and I am sure even after Christmas, it will be even more busy! Office move, moving the internet connection, servers, a desk for me to sit in, and just seems like a slew of other things on the horizon!

Had a nice time out on Friday with Adam, Courtney, Jake and Courtney’s friend Anna - hung out at Denny’s more fun was the company than the food/service, but a nice time, then followed that up by visiting Rosie @ B&N - so saw a majority of the gang, but hopefully I’ll see more before the years end!

I have been working on my bedroom a bit today, not a LOT of headway, but some, got my desk cleared off (well one desk) and I am going to start working on what becomes of PC2 and Server 1 here at the house, seeing as I really have migrated most of my day-to-day onto Mac, but the Server does still serve it’s purpose, as a secondary storage device where the NAS falls short.

Next week I do get to meet a gal, my sister/mom are setting me up, like many people for some reason I am in need of a relationship! I don’t think I’d mind one, but I am not looking to force one, but if nothing else this gal might enjoy a few new friends and I have some good ones, and from what I have been told this week, I am a good one so who knows! Could be fun.

Going to be hopefully sending out a newsletter to FH clients by mid-week, and TN before new years about changes coming this next year, been researching yet another offering and the profit margin ain’t too shabby, and if the business grows more locally things will be re-routed back to Bako, and maybe re-build a actual data-center here in town, would be nice to have more servers here.

Anywhoo - I am rambling, as I do in this silly blog - I think I am going to slowly wrap up here, and crash out, maybe watch a movie or something I dunno, tired, but still wide awake - but such is me I guess :) I will be gone this time next week most likely, doing Christmas Eve @ My Sister’s In-Laws house (always fun) and then Christmas day @ My Sister’s house, so fun fun fun! More posts later this week, and remember catching 87% spam is better than not catching 87% spam.

Christmas List?

Granted there are only like what 12 days till Christmas - but some folks are asking me “What do I get you for Christmas?!” - Honestly? I have no real idea, I can never think of what I’d want/need/etc. Few things I am after right now aren’t cheap, so feel free to team up, chip-in if your REALLY wanting to get me something, but you know me, nerdy clothes are nice, geeky gadgets - but here’s a list, I’ll add to it as I think of things, but this should help some of you who keep asking (and no… its not just the voices in my head, they ask for Peanuts (not the comic)).

  1. Geeky Clothing (From ThinkGeek - or Speak with Matt and beg for assistance in a custom build)
  2. Gadgets (From ThinkGeek) - Anything from there is nice.
  3. Treo Case - wanting a side holster, as the pocket is not the best place.
  4. E-500 4/3 Digital Lenses - Been looking at the 50mm, but again, very pricey.
  5. MacBook Pro Ram Upgrade - looking for 1 or 2 GB Stick to upgrade the ram
  6. Bookage - Good Christian Fiction the likes of Jefferson Scott or Randy Alcorn (I think there’s a follow up or continuation from Deadline)
  7. Cold Hard Cash - Money comes in handy - all sizes of bill accepted.
  8. … more to come ….

Sooo.. The Plan is set.

Well things have gone pretty dang good today, looked at a laptop for a gal, CD-Rom twas busted it seems, just kept seeking, could of been dirty, but all in all the laptop was very clean, just a dead drive, it happens - next I got my mail, and such at the office, checked in, snagged a Mobo for Dan to test his CPU in - then chit-chatted with the kMan about the office plans, the T1’s and SDSL’s and such, and have a plan set there too - talked on another deal we are doing together, and got pricing set for that, its good good stuff. God is Good.

So now, I am going to sit here, relax, and do nothing for a while - and ponder possibilities (or something creative like that) more details later I am sure, but for now, things look good!

It’s a Steal!

Well in hitting my morning regulars I hit the mac group on Flickr and noted a link to this: http://macheist.com/ - $50 for about $300 worth of software, plus money going to a good cause - it has 5 days left on the sale, and if $50k and $100k are reached, there will be 2 additional softwares (one at each level) added free of charge to the $50 purchase you already made.

Now PC visitors, I am sorry, this is a mac thing, and I must say for Delicous Library alone, its a tasty deal, ended up giving my brother the license of Disco and ShapeShifter as I own both, and he’s getting a Mac soon, but all in all a awesome deal, and a good set of causes you can select a specific group you want your purchase to go towards, or you can have them separate it up across the board.

I need to get packed up here soon, have a laptop to diagnose here in an hour or two, and I want to get downtown, check my mail, write up my deposits, and on my way there as I have other things on the docket for tonight :) Check out the deal mac folk, great deal.

So no photo friday…

But the upside is I got a TON of sleep, most of the day, going to crash out here in a bit and not try to replicate it tomorrow, but hopefully get some headway on re-organizing my room again, and work on packing up some of the office maybe as well - should keep me busy and out of trouble ;)

Today I had a choice to make, and I think I am sticking to my current thinking, as usual with some elements of my personal life I am a tad vague as I know some folks read this and would know people attached to some of the things I am thinking, so for that reason I like to stay vague as 1. I can always change my mind between posting, and doing - and 2. I know when I am tired, run-down, etc. I tend to be a tad over-emotional (joys of brain chemistry).

So life moves forward though, as much as I would love to continue to fight, and make my stand and win, sometimes in life, you just have to let go, and remove the blinders and see beyond a single possibility/choice, beyond what you think should be, and start looking again and what could be, because in some choices, 2 people don’t always have the same vision, dream, goals, they settle for something else because it’s there, and maybe that’s right for them, and I am wrong, but time moves forward, and I can stay in the past, or move toward the future. Life is funny that way, but my brain is one of 10,000 possibilities for every choice, joys of the over active brain.
But I am doing good, better these past 2 days than I have in a month or so, even with lack of sleep, some server issues, and some just life insanity, for once, I think I see past one choice I was waiting on to make things happen, and just need to move forward and find what is out there that will bring it all together, then explode it into more new crazy life choices. Thanks for read’n I know there’s a steady few of you, and I appreciate your prayers, notes of concern, IM’s of encouragement, and the occasional comment :) who knows maybe one day all of this will be posted in plain english, not hints and jabs, but simple, clean - just like my private journal writings. Night all, have a good weekend.
