Things for Sale

So here’s the list of things I have which will soon be up for sale:

HP+iPod 40GB (~$150)

Basically this is the Apple iPod, but it was this whole thing when HP decided to get into the iPod market, so it has a HP logo on the back, as well as comes with a STUFFBak Label for security, so if it gets lost, folks can recover it for a chance at a reward

Logitech Bluetooth Desktop (mouse+keyboard+bt adapter) (~$75)

This is fairly new, got it for the Windows desktop, however since I am getting rid of it, and only the mouse links up on the iMac, I am going to sell it, good performance, cool media features, and rechargable batteries on the mouse, AA on the keyboard, all uses Bluetooth.

HP LaserJet 1000 (~$50)

Still works great, but not Mac Compatible, so going to eventually replace, but for now my Epson will take it’s place, but a Laser Printer (probably something Network Ready) will take its place.

Tungsten T3 (~$50)

Still in working condition, mainly using it as a eBook reader lately, but slowly plan to phase out back to real books, unit is in fair condition - case has a dent, and the stylus dock is cracked, but unit works fine, battery is getting older, but still get about 1 hour of constant use, and 2 hours of casual use.

Samsung 753DF (SyncMaster) 17inch CRT Monitor (~$75)

Monitor has been stored for a bit, was recently unpacked and used when my LCD died, still works great, crisp, clean, and ready to go - seeing as it’s a CRT, may be good only for local delivery, but if your up for shipping, could be yours.

HP Laptop - AMD 64 3500+, 1GB Ram, 120GB Drive, 15.4 Widescreen (glossy) - (~$1,000)

Laptop is very nice, DVD Burner, Wifi, Card Reader, screen is crisp, and comes with ScreenSavrz from RadTech.us - has helped keep down the oil transference from the keyboard, as well as helped keep the screen clean from smudges - laptop is only a year old, works great.

So if all that were to sell, it’d be $1,400 if I got the listed asking prices, but I am open for some haggling - as soon as I am 100% ready to sell, I will get some photos, and get things documented on complete specs, and go from there - of course this means some folks will stop talking to me since I am getting rid of a Windows workstation, but sadly, thats how life goes. ;)

The Journey to Mac (update)

Well I did some pricing on Apple.com, I can get a MacBook Pro, and a iPod 30GB (iPod Video 5th Gen) for under $2k which ain’t bad - still a lot of money, but I think it’d be nice again to have a Apple laptop, bluetooth is native so net via Treo is easy, wifi built in, good video so I could do WoW if needed, and of course, the Mac Book Pro is shiny (always a plus).

So I have figures, I guess I just need to get some other things in gear, drum up some extra cash, get the laptop ready to sell, the old desktop setup as a server (donations from friends still welcome!) - clear off friends from all servers across the board, setup server in Bako (which is lovely for upgrades, fixes) and go from there - good stuff.

I think I am going to round up all my spare stuff I need to sell and make a list here in a bit, and I’ll post it for all to see, and see if anyone is interested in something.

That’s it, the wires are comin off!

I am done with the mighty mouse! When I got my iMac a few months back I was all jazzed about getting a Might Mouse, 4D scrolling is nice, but honestly, I’m good without it, I have 2 other mice (one Logitech, one Microsoft) which both have it, and I rarely use it - and since the Might Mouse is nearly impossible to clean, and broken part of it while trying to follow a how-to - a new mouse was needed.

Enter the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2000 - I know some die-hard Mac users would say “Your using Microsoft Mouse on a MAC?!” my answer is? Hell Yes. LOL - I am looking for a replacement keyboard too - this keyboard really is sticky, not in the sense I don’t clean it, but its very HARD TO PUSH sometimes, not sure if it’s the humidity/heat here, but its just not happy for me, thus, it must go soon too, must be USB, non-sucky new layout they are giving some “modern” keyboards these days, and be affordable, I don’t care so much if it’s Mac labeled, as long as it works.

Anywhoo - That’s my rant. More later.

A Year with the Treo650

As of yesterday, it has been one year since I bought my Treo 650 ( original post ) - and I must say, this sucker has stuck threw it all, today it got its first upgrade in a while, new high-capacity battery to replace the stock model which is not keeping a charge well anymore, too many times of it getting run down and used up - so fresh battery, new dock for it here at the desk, and possibly a new Plantronics Headset (Thanks Roger) which reads to work VERY well with the 650 - but this is rare indeed, not often I keep a phone over a year, usually upgrade, but this year, I have stayed strong!

Home for lunch, but found that kind of cool, so I shared it, a full afternoon ahead, waiting on some confirmation on this order that came in last night, and some more work on FH for once (too many spot emergencies) so hopefully I can sit down at the office around 2pm or so and just work, work, work, work, and get it polished up enough to move forward, going to move the setup though off my Linux server here at home to my Thumbdrive so I can work on it’s webserver (yes, I keep a webserver/mysql server on my thumbdrive) :)

Anywhoo - off to find grub! Have a good day all!

Why… oh why!

So I am looking at upgrading/replacing my HP+iPod 40GB - it has treated me well, but I think I am going to pass it on, and upgrade to one with Video/Photos (color in general) - plus the battery life is appealing - but only if all these pending things happen, waiting on one $800 a month contract, which is good, and I got a verbal “Looks Good” on my $400 a month contract for services, so if both happen, my car payment is done and then some, so one single splurge, iPod feva!

The old pod would go onto the gent I promised the first jump at it, Dan, then if he says no, it goes down the line to Rosie, and if no there,  it keeps going and going till I find it a new home, but it would be nice to have some of my shows, iTunes, and finally organized layout of all my music on the pod - I have some tracks in OGG from my Tungsten days, when I put tunes on my PDA - but now the iPod is handy, works in my car, and looks cool, so why not ;)

I do want to organize my tunes, remove dupes, ditch OGG and find my discs and re-rip things into MP3/MP4 for iPod/iTunes, and maybe hook up a BIG 200GB drive for all my media so my primary drive on iMac 20 (who still needs a name, like Shimmi?) - but so much to do so little time, tonight’s project is FH - get it ready to ride, some stuff won’t be 100%, but its new, fresh, and updated packages, deals, etc. may get some folks excited and buying!

Anywhoo - thanks for reading, and do take a minute to go forth and read/comment on my Fridge issue.

Got Print?

Well needless to say I am very pleased thus far with the print ability of the R340 from Epson, I had read a lot of mixed reviews, tried test prints at CompUSA, and was torn, but now I am printing out 4×6’s left and right ;) It will do full bleeds up to 8×10 - for larger stuff I can always outsource for 17×11 and such, but for most projects, client work, 4×6 or 5×7 will probably do, and for bands I can layout some 8×10 glossy’s as well, good stuff.

Anywhoo - lots of final prep on the room tonight, according to Officemax my table should be in tomorrow, if I can get it all re-arranged and cleaned the last bits tonight, I am good to go, because 2 monitors is just not possible with this printer on my desk, my Windows station is already pushed over to the site quite a bit :)

I’m not entirely lost…

Well my brother arrived last night with my GPS (Streepilot III from Garmin) it’s a older unit, but a GPS none the less, so I have some Geocaches tagged already, and already took it on a little journey - pretty accurate, at one point it was a variance of only 18ft, but kept my speed pretty well - so very cool.

It’s fathers day, and I already gave my dad his gift last week, Numb3rs Season 1 on DVD, one of him and my mom’s favorite shows, I am actually giving him a semi-upgrade for his birthday, Season 4 of the Pretender - classic TV from when TV was quality :) Probably doing something for dinner tonight, not sure, as the rest of the kids (beth/ron) are down at a baseball game with my aunt Karal.

What else is new with me? Well sleep - actually considering crashing out here shortly again, granted its 4:30 in the afternoon, just many weeks of no sleep are catching up with me, and I am sure this week will present a nice lack of sleep and then some - but  must be prepared for the following weekend as Cousin Sarah will be back in town, and the insanity will insue with some movie madness (Nacho Libre) - good times.

Anywhoo - Gonna zone out here for a bit, then maybe crash out or travel out to the office to ensure that the temperature isn’t spiking as it does on weekends as they have a bad habbit of shutting off our AC! So must cool it down sometimes… man I’m sleepy lol. Night Kids :)
