Hi, My name is Chuck, this is my site - I think, it’s been so long…. I need a nap, but for a little bit of an update, I am alive, I am busy busy busy, been working like crazy in my wonderful 8-to-5 world, with a mix of FH/TN in-between - so far so good.
Tomorrow, 1 day from now, is my birthday. 28. Yowza. I have NO idea what I am doing to celebrate, there was talk of RollerRama, there was talk of bowling, but I imagine after my day tomorrow, the only thing I am going to want to do, is sleep - lol. But I do want to get together with friends, have a meal, hang out, eat some cake, etc. or such is my thought/plan - but as usual, down to the wire with me, I have no idea, nor have I had the time to honestly even think about it - work, sleep, work, sleep, hang out away from the PC, work, sleep. etc. that seems to be the “standard” as of late.
So tomorrow we’ll see - heck I am going to try to come up with something tonight, but then again I am going to start coding at 7, and probably not stop till 11 - soooo we’ll see what happens. For now though, I’ll say “farewell!” and head off to find something to drink.

An update on Grandma, she’s stable, they got in and did tests to find her heard has a 96% blockage, so they are going in Friday to effect repairs, so thanks for the prayers, just a little more please
she’s doing well, there’s still a random chance I’ll go up with dad, but if I pick up this job, then it’ll probably mean no-go for a while.
Which leads to the job, gotten some details about it - shorts may be okay! But who knows, I may grow up sooner or later and just find a pair of pants that fit okay on my beefy legs, but from the sounds of it, as the IT guy it’s expected to get dirty and need to move around, thus shorts are currently “ok” - so far the job seems like a good thing, going to try and get in and see the operation, but could mean a decent wage thrown into the budget, which would be nice, and within 2 months if not shorter, I’d be able to snag an apartment, but weighing all that as well.
Code has slowed some project wise, with all the Grandma stuff I got majorly distracted so still some code to work out which is mainly the plan for today. Code, Code and Code some more to meet my deadline of “Wednesday”, but all in all its just a lot of routines I have to write that I know the basics of in my head, just a matter of making the final move from brain -> file.
Anywhoo - there’s the update, I am alive… mostly. I feel like taking a nap, still not 100% after the moves this past weekend, but I do need to send an email out today for sure on the moves this coming weekend. Busy busy, next week things should amp down some, but then I may also be starting on path to normal hours working a standard job…. time will tell. Happy Fake Friday!

So for a while I actually took Friday’s off, not anymore lol. So much to do as this year wraps up, and I want to make sure it goes smoothly, so Christmas day I don’t wake up to a pile of coal waiting in my email from customers - so today was some more dry runs of PHP5/APACHE2 configurations, also tested out the new feature for SPF/DomainKeys in the cPanel interface, the latest build offers the functionality, but it seems to have some glitches when it comes to domains with more than a single domain in the account (ie: accounts with Parked/Add-on Domains) - however it is workable.
Testing seemed fine on SPF/DomainKeys until the dreaded multi-domain account hit it, and the wrench was thrown into the gears, but another side effect is external DNS, there is no mechanism within cPanel to simply display the new DNS entires involved with SPF and DomainKeys, thus someone who is doing their own DNS, will have issues with true deployment, so a bug report was opened on cPanel’s bugzilla requesting the enhancement to display the records which need to be added.
All in all a semi-productive day, wish I had gotten some code time in, but the night is still young, though I may crash out soon and wake back up for the PHP5 run on Shepherd tonight, going to start it around 1am - but since I am going to archive the old build, that means while it builds that things like PHP and such will be broken for a bit, but never had a build take over 30m, and since mail, spam filtering, etc. on Shepherd will continue there is that chance, but I am hoping that with the early hour, (thus in most cases decreased load) I’ll see a quick build, some quick testing, then hit the sack.
Anywhoo - off to break and watch a flick, not sure what, saw Chuck & Larry last night, not horrible, tad too much swearing, but Ving Rhames - hilarious. Well played indeed. So enjoy your weekend, and if I don’t get a chance to post before Christmas, have a safe and happy Christmas folks!
– AT: New anti-fraud checks in WHMCS from MaxMind were officially tested with a new order this evening, did great! Very very happy, glad to see it work so smoothly. Okay going for real this time.

Soooo… it’s 220pm on Thursday, and this so far has been a fairly unproductive day, mainly because I went to bed at 8/9am (not sure when, but somewhere in there) so really haven’t had much of a day, woke up at 1:45pm and realized “Well so much for Thursday” and started on emails waiting for me. A long night last night though, couldn’t sleep, and got tired of laying staring at the ceiling, so I played some Orange Box, looked at code briefly but I really didn’t want to focus on tiny mindless things, so I didn’t, but I have my plan down for the skeleton of the admin area I’ll work on tonight, I want to make it so the client can see some live editing from the admin standpoint, and from that editor I can bring around the submission and customer editing tool.
Some good news today though, I got my ear loops from Jabra, so now I once again have a headset! No longer taking my phone in my pocket, back to a thing attached to the side of my head to answer calls, which makes driving a LOT easier! They did indeed send 2 so I have one extra which will probably last till the headset explodes or falls off a cliff.
Christmas is this next week, and I don’t really feel it. I’ve gotten some Christmas cards, and I plan to go see some Christmas lights, though just can’t get into the mindset that it’s truly the end of the year already and were celebrating Christmas?! But I do need to pull out my keyboard, practice some Christmas tunes as Christmas day I am playing some piano at the old folks home my mom works at, so need to re-awaken the piano part of my brain, some songs I’ll get, probably google some chords, but shouldn’t be too bad.
Anywhoo - this has taken 8 minutes to write and I keep getting more distractions, so I am going to call it done, and go find something mellow to eat.
Happy Thursday to ya all.

Ever just have that desire for something? Well I have one right now and it’s chicken, I dunno why, I had Nacho’s for dinner, but that didn’t seem like enough, so at 3am I think I am going to head towards JNB and snag the chicken club. Mmm.
So some updates (aside from the fact that I love chicken) my dad is doing good, he got the results back from his CT scan which basically told the Doc that my dad fought too much in his youth. He found that my dad basically had deformed/damaged cartilage in his nose which was making it hard for the sinus infection he has to clear, so aside from some anti-biotics in his future, they are talking about a 3hr procedure to fix the issue and put in some tubes - which from the sounds of it would make his breathing issues as of late go away. So good news there.
In other news, had Teppanyaki on Friday with the gang, twas tasty (I had chicken then too) - afterwards myself, sis and bro-in-law, and sara went and saw “I Am Legend” and while I think Will Smith did a great job in his role, the story line needed some tweaking, sure sure it could of ended “sort of” the same way, but they lined up some plot possibilities then walked away from them, that and if you like dogs - don’t go. LoL. I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone who wants to go see it, it’s not a “Buy on DVD!” for me, but I may rent it when it comes out.
Coding news, slow going, but going. This week I am going to push forward REALLY hard, and try to just get things finally wrapped up on several fronts - I have a easy project Monday installing a cart, not a TON I have to do until they get me a finalized design on that end, but for the basic install, maybe an hour to get it fine tuned and happy - but the rest of the coding projects, should be fun to push forward and finish up, I want to have the customer sign-up and sign-in done by the end of the week and a skeleton of the admin done.
CentOS 4.6 upgrades came thru last night, final few go thru this morning on 4 other systems, so pretty smoothly, no problems reported. The next few days will be more server fun deploying PHP5 slowly across the board, I am going to do it on a server Wednesday is my current plan, and then another Friday after the clean-up I am sure will need to happen on the first server - also on that list above and beyond PHP5 is MySQL5, but I think on that front after the server migration will be the plan on that as I haven’t even visited that in testing.
Anywhoo - that’s the update - I hope to have Lunch with Mr. Poon this week, and I am trying to come up with something clever for this next Friday - so lots to do, only 120 hours to get it rolling
so have a good week folks!

So the day started like any other day for me. Going to bed at around 9am.
sure sure one day it’s going to be rough working a standard 9-5 but my thought is how many folks jump for the option to work the hours of 11pm -> 8am! But the early morning turned out very nice, found out a few things, like Jack in the Box’s grilled chicken sourdough club, delightful. Also that Bill from Jabra was kind enough to send me this note:
Thank you for providing your mailing address. I am having two complimentary BT5010 ear hooks sent to you. Please allow about a week for delivery.
So looks like my BT5010 will be with me a while longer, and with two hooks, it’ll probably die with me (unless it stops working in the next 40 years, in which case, it’ll be missed.) - then the other thing, code went wonderfully well, got the last bits nearly done, just making some data input areas for the customer to input things for his project that way it’s in his hands, and I can continue to code the bits around it as he continues to add-data.
This week looks crazy as always, had a glitch between TN and FH’s billing systems, the credit card processing didn’t like the fact that two invoices had the same # so TN invoices bumped up to a range the two shouldn’t conflict in for a while #10000 range - and things are happy again, but TN is on the docket for this week too - going to get things finished up migrating old customers from dusty Quickbooks -> WHMCS which will mean no more silly mailed out invoices, all emailed out, with the exception of one customer who uses a “billing center” and I have no way to email in invoices, that I know of, so I am going to check on that too and see if I can’t get everyone.
All in all this should be a wild week, I hope to finish EE entirely code wise and get it ready to go, which is a little delayed all around some on my part, some on the customer’s part, but I think I can even have the new ideas in as well, so a few coding days ahead, going to try and lay off it in the evenings so my mind can amp down, but that is also on the idea that I’ll get normal sleep
so time will tell.
Lots more I could say, but I’ll probably say it later tonight, for now though, that’s all folks!

What a week, seems like it went by insanely fast, thanksgiving was quick (but tasty), had the weekly Friday meal with friends, of course now I am here on a weekend, and sadly all I can think to do… Work. All in All projects are nearly done, some will be completed on Monday (Billing Shutdowns and such) - but this weekend is some final code bits, the RM project has been done in the realm of data conversion (all I was hired to do) but I am helping out with the layout adjustments to make it easy for him to update - just a few bits left to code, going to make all sub-areas pretty much the same, just need to make a homepage where he can edit and manage the main page.
So I am slow to work, I spent some time checking out the budget, and so far so good, it’s a tight month, but if all things come thru - ahead again, nice way to close out a month, I am hoping with 12/1 coming up soon I can get the Affiliate program going on both sides of the fence can encourage some folks to invite friends over to host with me, be nice to see some new faces, got 1 today, which was nice, but everyone keeps doing the “Simple” package - but such is the hosting game, folks get what they need, or are woo’d away with large product offerings with small dollar amounts attached… it’s going good though, hoping I can continue to get more coding projects - good infusion to the budget.
Anywhoo, I am going to go try and put in at least an hour on code, then take a break for a bit. Have a good Saturday folks.
