Now that’s what I call 2 days. A lot has been going on with business stuff as of late, I recently finished up the basic ground work to a new Thrust Networks homepage - it’s been nearly 7 years since it’s original went online, and for 7 long years it stayed the same - so now it’s getting a new lease on life, and I am very excited - in part I was prodded to get it up to date by the application process to process credit cards, you have to submit your website for review and make sure things like “Return Policy” and such are all clearly listed, and having gone thru it once before with my now “old” provider who will be canceled within a month or so (phasing folks over) I knew the game - so things went very smoothly, and now I can officially process Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover! Definitely very stoked!
I had a good meeting with a client today, and got to talk with my good buddy Dan-o, was a nice day, I feel exhausted like I have run a marathon, maybe it’s some of this stress finally letting up, especially with this new card processor, it’s simply awesome, I bill a card thru it, instead of waiting 2 days, it’s in my account instantly, and I have a Debit card attached, so instant access to funds - very nice indeed, but also the finishing of the first leg of TN and now releasing the first of the FH Crazy October deals, very excited indeed, finishing up the game-plan for the remainder of the week as well as fine tuning some for next week - but I just feel like the tides are turning for the better.
Tonight I start test runs of Apache2 + PHP5 - my hope is to test several of the major apps out there in PHP, such as Wordpress, Gallery, 4Images, Etc. and ensure PHP5 compatibility, but I have a funny feeling for at least another 6 months, I’ll need to run both PHP4 & PHP5 to accommodate folks - but the big thing I am excited about is the migration of security to Apache2 and ModSecurity2.x - both which are wonderful tools, as-is for the current Apache 1.x/ModSecurity1.x branches - but 2 offers some more sexy with things like the ModSecurity Console - it’d be nice to have a more real-time over-view of security happenings across the servers, so I can make adjustments to the ModSecurity rules to better safeguard customers to the best of my ability.
So a fun evening ahead of me, which will probably just end with me passing out here in about 20 minutes, and having happy dreams - or I’ll get my second wind and start working on customer transfers from old billing -> new billing (yay!) already have a few in there, but more to come - ah fun fun fun - and PHP5 + Apache2 just finished compiling, dev copy of Wordpress on that box is working fine, more testing soon

Well quite a week, can’t actually believe it is Friday already! Just seems like this week has flown by and yet it is still going strong - lot of things went down this week, haven’t had a chance to really blog all that much - but it has been yowza - quite a week, to re-cap some of this week’s happenings:

Got the last of my stuff from the old office #2 (kMan’s place)
It was a fun week though, had some blips, some hiccups, but it worked, almost entirely into a “normal” sleep schedule, it’s odd going to sleep at a semi normal hour and waking up before 7am… not sure if it’ll stick - but I sort of hope it does!
I am sure there are other things I could go into detail on, the topic for one was something I had planned to talk about, but the short version is this week has been some good give and take, constantly I feel like all I do is give sometimes, but this week I got to give and take, it was nice, I have some awesome friends - now I just need to take a nap so I can hang out some more this evening, and this weekend! Oh how I loathe and love technology sometimes I miss my iPod for my car, it was nice to have my collection on hand in the car, easy to access, not to mention easy to put on headphones at night and pull up a playlist and rock out while coding ah only in due time, I almost bought one at Target the other day, but I held myself back… a while longer still… if only I had $350 on hand for the 80gb model…. ah a boy can dream can’t he?
Tonight it was one wild time after another, got to hang out with friends, it was a good time, a really nice Saturday night, granted more sleep might of been a good idea, but all in all, fun fun - played a little poker, still suck lol - but I want to get some rules down for blackjack, I think it’d be fun - and I’m not bad at it but hopefully if I can wing it, more fun to come as the summer ends and we all settle into patterns again.
Work front.. some things brewing I think… a weird Friday, good/bad - but things could be moving forward, found out some odd stuff about some folks, about how they think of me apparently, and the level of respect they have for others I know - sad really, but I suppose folks aren’t always what they seem, such is life, and life goes on, but in my own life, some things could be in the works which could make some good changes.
Anywhoo, its almost 4am, I am watching Eureka, drinking water, and pondering sleep after this episode … so I wish you all a happy Sunday, take care!
So woke up at around 5:30 or so, still feel a little bit edgy - but today short of some minor server work I have done already, to a service call this afternoon - the day should be pretty light, which is a nice change, I do have a possible server migration coming up next weekend, but it should be pretty laid back, just need to let the customer know we need to order his new server from his server company by Wednesday so its ready to go by Friday night.
I am hoping at some point to get some sort of photos, the 365 project has slowly become a lost cause, just been too many days were I was feeling sick and thus not at the computer to use the iSight, and on top of that, it would not be a pretty sight to be hold, but if I can get away for a bit, I think I am going to goto the lake, been a while since I’ve gone - just relax there for a while and snap a few shots.
CS3 should be here before 7pm, I know the UPS guy who runs our route, my dad fixed his classic Mustang - but he tends to get here around 4pm (on average) but usually later in the afternoon/evening, but it’ll be nice to get CS3 up and running, give Dreamweaver a look, and see what fancy things I can do with “Photoshop Extended” so should give me something to relax and do later tonight.
