Welcome to… wait… Friday? Wow.

What a whirl-wind week. A few servers jumps coming, doing some nameserver re-arranging, syncing, etc. should help normalize all clients, plus a fresh batch of IP’s to help get some folks out of blocked lists on hotmail etc. but this week may continue on and on and on and on and on it seems - but I think all things said and done, it’s getting better each hour, heck maybe as far to say every minute.

Tonight was a little crazy, helped the kMan at the office, worked on getting a few installs going, let him actually crash in his chair for about 20-30 minutes, then he said “Time to go home Chuckles” - which is a funny thing lately, folks have all sorts of nicknames for me, my brother’s is probably my favorite “Chuckles the Destroyer” lol - not sure why, or how he came up with it, but its just plain awesome.

Some possible good news, a job. Not a contract gig, but a real life job, making a salary a month, which while could keep me busy, also allows me to re-vamp their system, and really balance out my work with their work, and gives me a nice steady pay-check - so prayerfully that happens, because it would help on another for-sure good news, got a invite to the land down under and my friend said she’d go with me, heck by the end of the day the office was all “let’s all go!” so Jon, we may need a few tents for the lawn ;) lol - but seriously I am definitely looking at that, because it would be neat to actually leave this continent and also take pictures on another chunk of land.

What else, trying to empty my brain here so when I lay my head down, its a tad more empty, had a talk with the kMan about random things, nothing serious, just chit-chat of his obersations of me, kind of interesting, but as usual he’s supportive of me, heck he said “lets get the pizza and go” at dinner when my server alert came in and said “DOWN” so he’s a good friend, always has been - and I do what I can to give back, thus I was helping with his backlog of PC’s even though I am a mostly mac user these days, I still know my way around a PC and was able to work/diagnose/repair work on a few, some we had issues which are calls in the AM but all in all a lot done I think.

Well, today when I wake up, i think I am going to head out first (granting its not noon) and get some shots, and have a bit of a photo Friday, I am thinking of actually doing city scape’s vs. wide open spaces, granted got a AWESOME moon tonight, and possibly clear tomorrow, might be fun to wander the crazy city I live in for some inspiration and camera hijinxs - so maybe simple and in-town, but the day will tell, plus I have a SBC aka AT&T rep coming tomorrow between 8am-5pm - so I am going to need to stop in now and again, but hopefully that fixes the line up, a lunch with Courtney and Jake, since me and Courtney keep giving  Jake a hard time about lunch breaks, he gave in, tomorrow were eating at the Antique Mall then exploring the top floor or the lower level, not sure yet ;)

Speaking of Courtney before I forget, keep her in your prayers, her fibromyalgia was acting up, bad headache and such, so she could use your prayers, office has been a tad bit of a mad-house with her boss out on a big job, she’s sort of been thrown into power, but still not knowing the boss man’s set of rules/how-to’s and secret handshake - so with the computers backing up on the bench she had some mildly irritated folks, but hopefully my help tonight will lessen some of those calls and have lots of happy people in the AM.

Anywhoo - thats all I got, server just blinked again, but came back (during which time the server was still active) so I am calling it a night, hoping tomorrow will bring photos, servers, fun, and of course with a Friday, a end to a week and a start of some easy going relaxin.

Night folks.

Happy Fake Friday!

What a week, feels like it has been a full week already, and its barely Wed! So I declare today Fake Friday! Go home, watch a DVD, eat a pizza, have a taco, whatever you do to unwind (I’m thinking Oatmeal! - Odd I know) - but I am ready to go home, just have 3 things left to do - must hurry.

I’m full (No, I didn’t goto tacobell)

Just got home from a nice evening, J & J bought me dinner at Joseph’s - was pretty fun, then we swung over to my office and I got some software for their laptop, and we sat and chit-chatted, it was a good evening, very funny, relaxing, and I think it allowed them to talk about work a bit, and joke around.

All in all today was semi-unproductive, just couldn’t get going, ate breakfast, kept trying to work, got nothing :( so I crashed out around noonish, for about 3 hours, and I guess I was tired, even had a dream or two, which is crazy - but I got showered, and ready for dinner and went out, so a mellow day, a nice change for sure - hopefully I can go into Friday with the same level of mellow fun.

Anywhoo, no word back from Rosie yet as to how she thinks she did on her school stuff, but I imagine she did fine, just school gives her a bit-o-stress, but thats the hours of endless fun that is school - so hopefully I’ll hear something on  that tomorrow.

Lastly, if your in Bako and you are free on Oct. 7th, there’s a benefit concert a the Gate, $10 for 16 bands, should be fun, I’ll be there pretty much all day, doing photography, working the booth for awaken, should be a hoot - but if you want more details, some will follow soon.

For now though, I’m off - going to grab a bite for desert, and then crash for the night, dead tired. Night folks!

Why… oh why!

So I am looking at upgrading/replacing my HP+iPod 40GB - it has treated me well, but I think I am going to pass it on, and upgrade to one with Video/Photos (color in general) - plus the battery life is appealing - but only if all these pending things happen, waiting on one $800 a month contract, which is good, and I got a verbal “Looks Good” on my $400 a month contract for services, so if both happen, my car payment is done and then some, so one single splurge, iPod feva!

The old pod would go onto the gent I promised the first jump at it, Dan, then if he says no, it goes down the line to Rosie, and if no there,  it keeps going and going till I find it a new home, but it would be nice to have some of my shows, iTunes, and finally organized layout of all my music on the pod - I have some tracks in OGG from my Tungsten days, when I put tunes on my PDA - but now the iPod is handy, works in my car, and looks cool, so why not ;)

I do want to organize my tunes, remove dupes, ditch OGG and find my discs and re-rip things into MP3/MP4 for iPod/iTunes, and maybe hook up a BIG 200GB drive for all my media so my primary drive on iMac 20 (who still needs a name, like Shimmi?) - but so much to do so little time, tonight’s project is FH - get it ready to ride, some stuff won’t be 100%, but its new, fresh, and updated packages, deals, etc. may get some folks excited and buying!

Anywhoo - thanks for reading, and do take a minute to go forth and read/comment on my Fridge issue.

What’d you do today?

A loaded question. One I should probably be sleeping off, but I need to unwind a bit, so to the keyboard I stumbled.

Day started off good, a good night’s rest, and a nice email & call:

  1. I have a Wednesday appointment at the car dealership to check out my “Check Engine” light, lady said its a common goof, and usually nothing, but to stop driving the car if the light starts blinking (no blinks yet)
  2. Car insurance is in place, active, and paid for.

So with all that squared away, got my first REAL DAY of use out of the car, went to the gym, hung out, talked shop, looks like I have the job! 4 computers, one wimpy one for backups, and a service contract! Woohoo!

Next I went to the office, and got some pricing on the space next to my current office space, and maybe if things pan out with my brother we may have both spots! So very cool there.

Ran home to freshen up a bit, before the shoot - and then headed out to meet the couple - got there a little early, so I played at the gym for a bit on the front desk PC waiting for em, they showed up and we headed out to the lake - well actually above the lake to be exact, so we got some fun shots, get back to those later - but it left me a little late, but I drove like a mad-man to the next stop…

CompUSA to meet Rosie, we got her laptop with only mild irritation - long story, but in the end it all got taken care of, and is all good - she now has a fancy laptop, it’ll work great for school, and is affordable to boot ($599!) some rebates to do, but not too shabby either way - so we went to my office to do some software installs, but then I saw the clock and realized I needed to get my cuz and her friend for a movie, so Rosie came with for the ride, and we moved on to the next step..

Sarah and Ariel (wowza) lol - I say Wowza, as I think the girl may of been on speed. :) LoL just a very loud personality, but she wasnt too  bad, except when she assulted those police officers….. I kid I kid… anywhoo we went and dropped off Rosie at her car (which was at B&N across from the theatre) and went to see Click. Good flick, worth every cent Sarah paid (Thanks BTW!).

Lastly I needed my laptop, I wanted to work on the shoot photos some tonight (but I think I may just pass out… so tired.. but downtown was all blocked off by BPD, so we had to park a street over, go through parades of drunk folk, and make it to my office in the middle of the chaos, and trek upstairs, snag my camera/laptop, and then back down.

A complete night if I do say so, and some fun time today in my car, nice to be able to go out, and have AC and not be soaking wet between car rides…. but I do miss the heat after a minute or two of sitting in my office with the AC on.

Ariel, if Sarah is letting you read this, eat my turkey sandwich and goto sleep. Crazy baby coffins. (don’t ask folks) - A good week, a blessed week. God is definately good, and I can only wait to see what this next week brings. Night All.

Care to donate $5 to the BCAC Foundation?

The BCAC (Buy Chuck a Car) Foundation was formed today to help buy me a car ;) Why do you need to help me buy a car? I think the real question you should be asking yourself is “Why don’t I just buy Chuck a Car?” or “Why haven’t I given Chuck all my money yet?!”.

In honesty though, hit the car shopping a little this morning, and found a nice on-lot configuration at the local Chevy dealer for $14,140 - has everything I want, including some things which will bring down the insurance a bit, but all in all, nice car - now I am going to try to sneak out around 1 or so and give it a test drive, see how I fit in it, as some cars are built for people with a smaller frame than me (I’m big boned - lol) but I like the written specs a lot, so hopefully it fits, drives, etc. like I hope.

But if anyone does want to send me money (Full $14,140 is welcome!) drop me a note - if not I guess I’ll have to do it the old fashioned way, hard work, long nights, might even have to sell myself out on the street corners, holding a sign that says - “Need IT?” of course that may get people looking for a different type of IT… maybe not a good idea. Anywhoo - I am going to go now, get my shoes on, and swing by the gym and check in, and then off to the office for a while, hopefully between now and then you’ll all of read my blog, and send billions of dollars :) Have a good day folks!

Moving, wait… Moving.. wait

Ah what a day, cleared my day to help Rosie move from her rent’s place to her friend’s house to the new room she’s renting, supposed to start at 9 but had some minor hangups, a final time was set: 12:30pm - so I headed over there, we got loaded up, I chased her down the freeways in my truck (as I had no idea where I was going) - and we made it there…. only to find that the road was being re-surfaced and for WHATEVER reason, it was against the rules to drive on it. Very odd/stupid/insert explicit lyric here.

So after a few carefully placed calls, I reached my sister who lives near by there now, and asked to use her garage to store the cars, well she was at work on the other side of town, Michael is back to school (teaching) and the only spare key was with Dad - sooo a call to dad and a deal was made, Route 44 Grape Slush from Sonic in exchange he’d drive the key over and meet us at Beth’s place. So we drove that way, and followed my dad there, parked the cars in and did the other things on the list for the day as the road wasn’t going to be “finished” till 6pm.

Needless to say, many details aside, we made it. Got her unpacked, a bed, met the boyfriend, met the roommate again (met her at B&N once before) and said my farewell, as it had been like 7-8 hours since we started, a fun day, but this boy was tired from the running around - but I then finished up the evening with the K-Man, enjoying a fine order of the Chili-Dog Diet - twas tasty, and helping him on some work stuff, then here I am now, fresh from the shower, and pondering sleep. Good day.

Needless to say, I hope the next move, if ever is me, lol. Possibly another post in a bit, just trying to decide if it’s a public thought, or a private thought… time shall tell. If not, then Night, if it is, see you soon :)
