PS:4 – Project Fi Followup

So a while back in my last attempt to post something I wrote about Project Fi. Well, I’ve been using it a few months now, a cell phone bill around $30 a month for unlimited talk/text – 3GB data that I use or don’t pay for, and my feedback is? I like it.

It’s not perfect, sometimes I get knocked around networks, sometimes the wifi calling can be “okay” and not great – but for the price and access to two networks, can’t go too wrong, but as a business line it’s doing just fine!

It still has to use the Google Created phones (No 3rd party phones) but they keep adding to it. Recently offered a data-only SIM card so if I had a GSM enabled tablet/hotspot I could put it in and use the network at a “pay if you use it” rate like I do with data currently!

All in all, if you are fed up with your provider, it’s not a bad switch! Check it out here!

PS:3 – Work

Work has been fairly regular. A new thing for me, as sometimes in the past it has been feast or famine. Too I’ve gotten a donation or two on the FlockHosting side to help with Church Hosting, and I’ve had now two churches send me “thank you’s” which still just blow me away.

I’ve added a new web editor which is slow to take off, it’s called Weebly, and a few churches are enjoying it, but hopefully others will enjoy it and sign-up for a plan with it.

I’ve started a giveaway again, this year I’ll give away 12  years of hosting – I used to do this on a monthly basis in the first few years of FlockHosting, helped out a site here, helped out a church there – all at no cost or low cost. It was time to start it again I felt, and it’s live today.

One big change is my baby girl. She’s not at that stage yet where letting dad work is an option. She’s been teething and hurting (growing pains) which requires her to have human contact or, at least, access not blocked by a baby gate. I’m enjoying it while I can because I know the next stage will become not needing me, then driving, boys…. okay she’s a post something for another day!

Thrust Networks hopefully will have a big revamp before too soon. Going to keep it super basic, but I do hope to grow it more. Lost one client at the end of 2015 she’d been with TN since the start, business was killed off by the drought. A sad sight but they were an excellent customer.

Overall work is going well, really hope to take my website idea and get it live too. I would be nice to make some passive income on posts, videos, etc. but for now, it’s time to get back to work exporting a database which is too huge for phpMyAdmin to export in one swoop. Have a good one all!

PS:2 – Sick

I’ve been sick the last few days, even Monday I felt pretty crummy, hoping that today continues to level it out.

I hate being sick. I hate it, even more, when I’m feeling crummy with the kiddo, but she’s been feeling bad off and on too, puked the other night 🙁 but her sick is even worse than me not feeling good. Me I can push, rest, or whatever I need to function. She doesn’t she looks to me to feel better.

One of the big things that have helped is teething tablets from Hyland’s Baby. They are awesome and work amazingly well! I recently tried their cold tablets to help her stuffy nose, and I kid you not, after even half a dose she was breathing easier! Much quicker than Vicks for her (YMMV) and it’s great they are on Amazon (links above) or if you prefer your local Target!

This week is going to be a busy one!

PS:1 – Post Something

I enjoy writing. Sadly, I’m horrible at it.

I am not your regular writer who ensures every little thing is perfect; I write to write. It’s like me having a conversation with the keyboard. So I may use a comma somewhere that one of these editors I’m relying on nowadays to learn to correct. So you may not see it as much, but trust me Grammarly alone tells to upgrade to fix issues (I probably should!).

What is this PS:1 business? Post Something. Day One.

My life gets far too busy. Stress. Work. Kid. Wife. Faith. Lack of Sleep – and I just don’t keep up anymore in the one thing that’s always given me a time to relax, writing.

So in an effort, I want to start a series of Vlog’s & Blogs to document life a bit.

I looked at the blog and saw that I have a very very low post count: 38. That’s it! At one point I had well over a thousand (if not 2k) so it’s time to get back to it. Even if it’s just to post a picture, a vlog, an update on work, even thought about doing a “Running a business” weekly update vlog, really just talk about the stresses of the week, the struggles of a small business owner.

I have a lot in mind, and I hope I can keep it up. I need the writing practice. I need to ensure that as I venture this next month into launching TFH, I’m in the groove of writing. Even trying to make a portable writing rig with an HP X360  which has been working great and has a little blue case made by Amazon Basics – a tight fit, but helps keep it safe!

New Year, New Projects, New Blog. Check back tomorrow, may not be huge, but it’ll be something written. Hello, 2016.
