PS:363 – Lowered Sugar

So my RBS has been going down. One morning it was 304 – 20 days later and on meds for only 3 days – my new RBS in the AM was 171! Down 133. Boom!

Tomorrow in the morning I go to do my blood work they requested, hoping maybe it’ll paint a better picture of why the levels have been what they are, the meds, however, are indeed helping! So happy to see levels lowering. While still high, hopefully, a trend we can keep with these meds and really help get me back in shape again walking and being active as lately its been a lot of sitting.

I do need to go find something to eat, may tear up my salad today as it sounds good, but been a slow day, but as of about 20 minutes ago it started perking up, some work coming down the pipeline, so here we go!

PS:362 – New Meds, New Site, New Year

So the doctor’s visit went okay. Really liked the new doc, I’ve met a few over the years and I’m honestly going to see if this guy can be my GP – I honestly haven’t felt like a doc actually heard me and answered my questions, this guy heard my concerns, answered my questions, and even gave me a newer med and teamed it up with the metformin to see if we can’t get the sugar under control, and gave me a new BP med which got my body to relax so much that last night I crashed out SUPER early – 9hr 45 minutes of sleep according to the fitbit.

Working hard on FlockHosting.com and ThrustNet.com this week, hoping to create a lot simpler set of sites, nail things down and make it concise and to the point, no more wordy pages, just what I offer, to the point, keep it simple, no hard to manage designs, easy to add if I need to, and simple to remove too.

2018 is rapidly approaching. A lot of things I want to see this coming year, and with 3 posts left in my commitment to post daily for a year, I’m really missing the steady flow as I’ve been writing these past few days, helps me get things out of my head and makes it more real if that makes any sense – journal is one thing, still great for things not ready for prime time, but online blog really makes it more “out there”, something about that is therapeutic to me.

For now, back to it, got swim lessons tonight with the kiddo, and night 2 of new meds, so we shall see how the RBS (Resting Blood Sugar) looks in the AM, this morning 201, still high, but for my mornings? Actually lower than just metformin! So improvement, hoping day two is even more!

PS:361 – Blood Sugar

I’ve been diagnosed as a diabetic for a few years now, honestly, it seems to stay fairly in check, but as of late its gotten really bad. Not entirely sure why but guessing less movement would be the culprit as last night I took a 4.4 mile walk from Home -> CVS -> FoodMax -> Dollar General -> Home – and that journey was just to return a movie to the Redbox at the CVS, however, BOTH machines were full, so I quickly headed across the street to Foodmax.

That walk saw a HUGE drop in my sugar, but the odd thing is that once I settled in at my desk, literally within 30 minutes it was already starting to go back up 🙁

Today I goto an Endocrinologist. Probably a step that my original diagnosing doctor should have done, but here we are 2 GP’s in and it took an Urgent Care Doc to get me rolling in that direction, plus some actual training on managing blood sugar because seems like things I have read online about “Oh eat this whole grain snack, doesn’t spike blood sugar”, but the article should have read “Unless you are Chuck” lol so something’s up.

Hoping today is going to be a better day than yesterday, blood sugar is lower waking up than it has been, so that’s at least positive, but hoping this week, ends up better too!

Off I go to set up a dev area for a website. Who knows if I can stop worrying I may actually launch my own sites this week too!

PS:360 – 5 more to go.

By no means did I actually do a post a day for a year, but I’m rapidly coming up on a full year worth of posts. Not exactly the feat I had in mind when starting this PS idea, but none the less I’m coming up on finished.

Tonight I’ve been trying to focus on working. It’s not working. I’ve torn down a site, put it mostly back together, then tore it down again.

I’ve looked at my code on a program, and realized that it’ll never work, but not because the code is bad, but because the guy who coded the original site didn’t give any data manually inputted any different than something inputted by the nightly import from an external dataset. So I can’t purge outdated entries, without destroying the entire database. Fun.

And lastly, had my blood sugar spike and feel like crap. Yes, it’s 1:13 am, and I’m going to go for a walk. Maybe it’ll clear my head, maybe it’ll lower my sugar, maybe I’ll come home and just pass out. It’s been a long day.

PS:359 – Back Online

So… the issue? AppleALC sound driver I installed was either A) Corrupt or B) No longer needed, it was choking at boot time. So mounting the drive on my laptop, went into the Extension folder, removed AppleALC.kext and tada: Online.

Sound is working too – which after a recent update that wasn’t working either, so nice to be back online and operational with my beast, the old Mac Book Pro is showing its age, coming back from sleep/bootup is taking longer and longer, battery is lasting less and less, may be time for retirement.

Seriously thinking of building out a solid Linux rig and bidding farewell to Mac, not really anything Mac-specific I need, iMovie is nice, but I’ve been thinking of finding a good video editor for my monthly Flock Updates, and any other video work I want to put online, but even then, most deep edits I can do on the iPad.

Anywhoo, one less thing on my todo – hoping the rest of this evening/morning goes similarly to this win, I need more wins.

PS:358 – A month later…

Oi. Moved. Done. Not completely unpacked/organized or fully setup – but the other house is done.

I’m tired. Very tired, but works never stops, life doesn’t stop.

So here I am on my laptop as my desktop is once again completely messed up, sadly the world of Hackintosh has left me with a kernel panic and a non-working station, which sucks, and I’m considering re-building from scratch or making a Linux workstation that just simply rocks.

The world of Mac may not be something I’m going to stick around with too long – but then again time will tell – but for now some code to work on tonight for a few projects, going to write a HUGE script that imports data raw from CSV -> SQL to make it accessible to re-generate content for a site as needed, because as it stands it requires a re-import 5000+ items, and that is time-consuming when only a single item is the issue, a full re-import can take up to a few hours especially when its re-processing all item photos.

For now – work, laundry, sleep (eventually).
