PS:320 – Being Mobile

So a mini-vacation is on-going, sadly it being the middle of the work week it means that my daughter and wife are at the beach right now, and I’m in a hotel room working and waiting on next steps from people for a bit.

This trip I have really not even cracked open the laptop which is rare for me, I am actually completely running on a iPad Pro 10.5 (Sprint LTE) and I have not been disappointed! At first, I figured it’d be nice to have it as a backup, unlimited data on a bigger tablet would mean some work I could do but not all, as coming from a Mini it didn’t have enough room to get me where I needed to be, but honestly the MacBook is sitting in the backpack. It’s only come out to charge devices!

Split screen is amazing as I have had SSH on one side, notes on the other then swap it for a Crisp window/browser/transmit etc. – I am honestly looking forward to iOS11!

So far I am using an older keyboard (Logitech k480) which I picked up on the cheap, however I did order earlier in the week a new keyboard which profile wise is going to be a bit less clunky, more portable, I picked up a Amazon Basics tablet stand and its been awesome! Folds up nicely, so really my mobile work-space has been awesome.

All in all, while I wish I could go play, my compile is coming to an end, and thus writing time is done, I will have to post this later!

// Update – We are home! Nice to still work on the iPad Pro and write up some content, working on some images for a few projects in progress – tired. But probably one of the more workable getaways I’ve ever had, it wasn’t a big hiccup to get out a laptop, get wifi on, hook into my vpn, finding enough room to be comfy, then get another device to read and do research! So again this has been an amazing update to my mobile office.

As this summer goes on, I may find myself at a coffee shop, an office, co-work space etc. just really trying to make myself more mobile than I have been with a BIG bag, literally now it is a small pouch which has charging cable, keyboard, iPad Pro. Lightweight, ultra portable.
